Today In Review

I’m once again combing two days into one post. This is because on Wednesday 3 May I did essentially nothing. No trades interested me in the 30 seconds I had free, and the premiums were too low to justify writing a call for my ENPH position.

Thursday there was more activity. I wrote 1 put and finally wrote my call.

TEAM

The AI flagged TEAM today across many models. Diving into my favorite model, I saw a put at the $135 mark showing a high confidence of expiry. It also had some really good premiums, especially with only 1 DTE to expiry and it currently trading at over $149. So I wrote a put for the $135 raking in a nice $3.90 premium.

ENPH

The day finally came, I wrote a call. I had been hesitant up until now because my AI wasn’t showing any strong signs of what strike to take. To be honest it still wasn’t today, but given the macro environment and 1 DTE I felt okay giving one a whirl. The premiums are still pitifully small, but might as well generate some yield. ENPH is currently trading at $156, so I wrote a call for $167.50 to take in $0.18 of premium.

CI

The CI position I wrote earlier this week is currently in the money. I almost bought it back to close it out today, but stopped myself for two reasons. Firstly, at its current price even if I was put the stock I could sell it and still be positive due to the premium I got for the contract in the first place. Secondly, all the technicals indicated it was highly oversold:

My breakeven price factoring in the premium is $241.50, and it closed at $243.69. I’m going to keep an eye on it tomorrow throughout the day, but at this point being put the stock will result in a better financial situation than closing the position

Closing Thoughts

Today’s gains were largely driven by ENPH’s movement. Tomorrow I will need to keep a close eye on the CI position. I may need to recoup some capital from that, but otherwise it’s set up for a nice close to the week.
